Marie France growing bigger

Marie France Bodyline has spent Bt150 million to open five new slimming salons so far this year, and three more will be launched in the second half.

The new centres are in Central Ramindra, CentralWorld, Fashion Island, the Sukhumvit subway station and Central Rama III, general manager Sasiwee Suetrong said yesterday.

The company has also introduced its latest therapy called the Mesosound Biactive System, which brings together the two most effective slimming technologies, mesotherapy and ultrasound, to achieve long-lasting slimming results.

"We're pleased to introduce well-known model and actress Marisa 'Mam' Samritsook as the presenter of our new Mesosound Biactive System treatment, which will target women aged 25-45," Sasiwee said.

The slimming market grew by almost 20 per cent last year to Bt1.8 billion-Bt2 billion, she said, adding that 80 per cent of all customers were women.

"We expect demand for slimming treatment to enjoy further growth, because consumers are increasingly concerned about controlling their figure and weight with proper and safe methods," she said.

"The market for slimming treatments is expected to grow by about 25 per cent this year, and we are now enjoying the leading share of 58 per cent."
