Mazda Sales (Thailand) yesterday debuted the latest Mazda 3, which is said to offer a unique design and ultimate performance in power and handling, at a starting price of Bt816,900.
"The new Mazda 3 has received an overwhelming response from customers in other countries," marketing director Sureethip La-ongthong said. "The marketing strategies we've been using in differentiating ourselves have focused on the fact that it is the best-quality passenger car in the 1,600-2,000cc engine category, equipped with grade-A accessories - the same as those found in leading European brands - at an excellent price." The Mazda 3 New Entry 1,600cc model starts at Bt816,900 and ranges to the five-door Mazda 3 Spirit Sport with leather seats. The 2,000cc line starts at Bt1,019,900. The "Zoom-Zoom" marketing strategy, which will be introduced to the public after the media launch, will accentuate unconventional concepts for both advertising and marketing events. Road shows will be held at several Bangkok venues and later upcountry, to reach out to target groups. "Mazda is preparing to undertake marketing activities for the launch of the Mazda 3 nationwide. We'll be holding activities in Bangkok that will provide opportunities for customers to take test drives, as well as other fun activities under our 'Zoom-Zoom' concept from June to July," Sureethip said. "Mazda booths will showcase our Mazda 3 at leading such department stores as Central Lat Phrao, Central Pinklao, Central Bang Na, Central Rama II, Central Rattanathibet, Fashion Island and Future Park Rangsit in Bangkok with road shows to each region of Thailand," he added. In the first five months of the year, Mazda sold 6,655 vehicles, up 13 per cent from last year. "It is expected that the launch of this Mazda 3 will be an important turning point for Mazda to dramatically increase its sales and win customers' hearts again. We are expecting that our total sales at the end of this year will reach 16,500 units as targeted," said Mazda Sales deputy managing director Bruno Charvet.
