Krung Thai customers get power to pay their bills

Krung Thai Bank customers in the near future will be able to pay their electricity bills via ATM and online services.
Sahas Treetipbut, senior executive vice president of Krung Thai Bank, said the bank in cooperation with the Metropolitan Electricity Authority would provide the new service to bank customers by the end of this month, allowing customers to avoid the counter services of electricity branch offices. "We also provide convenient services to our customers so they will be able to do transactions such as personal cash management over the Internet from their homes, offices or anywhere else they want," said Sahas. He said customers would also be able to apply for housing loans electronically. The bank will inform customers of the outcome of their applications within half an hour. The bank also facilitates gateway business transactions to support e-commerce businesses and suppliers who want to trade over the Internet, via www.ktb.co.th. It also works with the Revenue Department to provide a paperless system to allow businesses to do transaction via online services. As a result, businesses do not need to take time paying their transaction fees at the Revenue Department and individuals can also pay their personal tax via Krung Thai ATMs. He also said the bank would by the end of this year implement up to 2,000 new electronic machines such as ATMs, adding to the existing around 3,800 electronic machines to support more than 12 million bank customers. The bank now has 700 branch offices nationwide. "We believe our new services will increase customer satisfaction when using Internet, branch offices or electronic machines," said Sahas.
