Milo to the fore at games

Nestle (Thai) is spending Bt43.5 million to be an official sponsor of the 24th Southeast Asian Games. Its supplementary-food drink Milo is the sole beverage brand involved in sponsoring the event.
The firm said the money would support the region's largest sporting event, to be held in Nakhon Ratchasima from December 6-15. Nestle executive manager for coffee and beverages Prasopsook Suthapirom said yesterday the company was behind sports events that encourage children to lead a healthy life. He said the games would be used to highlight the company's policy of promoting discipline and sports skills from a young age. The company has sponsored the Milo Junior Championships for primary students for three years now. The SEA Games sponsorship agreement consists of Bt28.5 million in cash and the remainder in product. The company will use the games' logo and other promotional material on its Milo packaging and advertisements. Nestle said the games would help it built better brand awareness for Milo in Thailand.
