Lifters eye two gold

[WEIGHTLIFTING] Thai lifters are eyeing two gold medals in the 33rd Men's and 13th Women's Junior World Weightlifting Championships in Prague from Sunday.
The Thailand Amateur Weightlifting Association (TAWA) named Tip-amorn Phupluem in the women's 48kg, title holder Suda Chaleephay and Amnuayporn Maneewan in the 53kg, Natthaneeya Janpluk in the 58kg, Chinarat Kaewrak in the 62kg and Pornchai Lopsri in the 69kg classes. TAWA's consultant chairman Maj Gen Intarat Yodbangtoey, the vice president of International Weightlifting Federation (IWF), said the country's best bets are Tip-amorn and Suda, who will compete on the first and the second days of the event. "We think Suda can retain her crown in the 53kg category. Tip-amorn has a better chance of winning than last year as she continues to improve on her record," he said. Intarat harbours hopes Chinarat and Pornchai will make history. "They have been performing well. We are grooming them for the 2012 Olympic Games," Intarat said. The Thai team won six medals, including two gold, in the women's division, when China hosted the event last time.
