The 35-member Constitution Drafting Committee (CDC) is expected to complete a revised draft of the charter by Sunday before forwarding it for final debate by the 100-member Constitution Drafting Assembly (CDA).

CDA wants early referendum

An Election Commission member proposed yesterday that the referendum on the new constitution be held two weeks faster than scheduled - in mid-August - to prevent a possible dispute about when the Constitution Drafting Assembly's time expires.
