LATE NEWS
Phuket a top beach scene

TripAdvisor, the world's largest travel community, today announced Phuket is amongst the top-10 beach scenes in the world.

The top 10 comprises South Beach, Miami, Florida; Ibiza, Spain; Cancun, Mexico; Rio de Janiero, Brazil; Nice, France; Phuket; Mykonos, Greece; Surfer's Paradise, Australia; Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; and Waikiki Beach, Hawaii.

"If you plan to visit these hot beach scenes this summer, prepare for a show," said Michele Perry, director of communications for TripAdvisor.

Real efficiency

CB Richard Ellis Group, an international commercial real-estate company, yesterday announced a goal to become "carbon neutral" by 2010 and a plan to assist clients with energy-efficiency programmes at the 158 million square metres of building space that the firm manages around the world.

This represents the first time a major commercial real-estate services firm has announced plans to go carbon-neutral.

The company also said it is working closely with the Natural Resources Defence Council to introduce new energy-saving measures at client-owned and client-occupied properties.

ProPak Asia

The United Kingdom's Processing and Packaging Machinery Association with the support of UK Trade & Investment has organised a group of British companies to exhibit at ProPak Asia 2007, to be held at Bitec from June 13 to 16.

These manufacturing specialists will introduce a number of processing and packaging products, including a metal detection system, an alternative ink-jet marking system and carton collater/loader.

On June 14 a seminar - "Improving Quality, Performance and Cost through Better Processing and Packaging - a UK Perspective 07" - will also be held at ProPak Asia 2007.
