Diplomats to get briefing on verdicts

The foreign and justice ministries will brief international diplomats this afternoon on the Constitution Tribunal ruling last week that dissolved the Thai Rak Thai and acquitted the Democrat parties.

Foreign and Justice permanent-secretaries Virasakdi Futrakul and Charan Pakdithanakul will speak with ambassadors and representatives of international organisations at 1pm at the Foreign Ministry.

Spokesman Tharit Jarungwat said yesterday the session was not specially organised but part of its routine work keeping overseas envoys informed.

Questions would be permitted and an English summary provided.

The briefing would discuss how the dissolution and banning of 111 Thai Rak Thai executives from the electoral process would affect the coming election.
