IN BRIEF
A fine start

Assumption College Thon Buri [ACT] threw down the gauntlet to their rivals by registering two victories out of two in the Under-15 Manchester United Premier Cup's South East Asia [SEA] regional final in Singapore yesterday.
A strong start helped the Thai students brighten their chances of finishing in the top place, which would mean a qualification spot in the World Final, where they would face 19 other teams from around the world. Anusak Laosangthai was the toast of their remarkable day after the team's star striker showed his predatory instincts with two poacher goals to help the Thais clinch two 1-0 victories against the hosts' Singapore Sport School and DKI Jakarta of Indonesia. - The Nation.
