Matchima in amnesty bid

The Matchima group will join forces with the new Thai Rak Thai group to seek amnesty for all party executive members who have been banned from politics for five years.

"We will discuss seeking amnesty for all the 111 executive members. We may demand the government or the National Legislative Assembly pass a law," a source quoted Matchima leader Somsak Thepsutin as saying.

Speaking after the meeting, Somsak said that after the next election MPs from his group would propose an amnesty for the banned politicians. - The Nation
