Institute of Wisdom to be established
Srinakharinwirot University is planning to establish the country's first Institute of Wisdom, where undergraduates will study His Majesty the King's theories and thoughts.
"This institute will cover His Majesty's sufficiency-economy theory and other knowledge about the environment, community forests, conscience, ethics and moralities that His Majesty has taught us," Asst Prof Amnat Yensabai said yesterday. He chairs the university's "knowledge-to-community" division. Amnat said the Institute of Wisdom would be established in a patch of degraded forest in Sa Kaew's Watthana Nakhon district. Amnat said His Majesty's sciences would be applied to restore the forest to its natural state. Teachers will be community leaders who have put the King's teachings into practice, he added. He said the Institute of Wisdom would open next year. The admission of students will be based on their academic performance and their work for the public benefit.
