Wiwatchai to tell all tomorrow

Silapakorn University president Wiwatchai Attakorn will make a statement tomorrow following the university council's resolution to dismiss him from his position.

On Thursday, the Silapakorn University Council held a special meeting to scrutinise Wiwatchai's administrative performance. His services were terminated when 20 of the 24 board members later voted to dismiss him.

They also issued a written statement of the decision, which took effect from yesterday.

In response, Wiwatchai invited media members to attend a press conference at a meeting room of the October 14th Foundation's office on Rajdamnoen Avenue tomorrow afternoon.

Wiwatchai - said to be the first university president to be sacked in the history of higher education - said he had done nothing wrong or behaved dishonestly.

Wiwatchai said he would sue the university council and demand justice, so society could learn from his case.
