Bourse to remove 4 stocks from trading board

On June 1, four stocks will be removed from the trading board following their failure to rehabilitate their business on time, the Stock Exchange of Thailand said yesterday.

They are Circuit Electronic Industries, Thai-Denmark Swine Breeder, Hantex and New Plus Knitting.

On March 7, 2005, the SET subjected Circuit Electronic Industries, Thai-Denmark Swine Breeder and New Plus Knitting to the rehabilitation process while Hantex was sent to rehabilitation on March 18, 2005. The firms were given two years to revamp their business to avoid possible delisting.

"The latest financial statements submitted following the given two years show that Circuit Electronic Industries, Thai-Danish Swine Breeder, Hantex and New Plus Knitting could not resolve their problems in line with the SET's criteria. Thus, the SET will remove their securities from the trading board and transfer them to the Non-Performing Group from June 1 onwards until the companies resolve the causes of their possible delisting," the SET said in the announcement.

Whenever the companies meet the criteria for removal from possible delisting, they may apply for a transfer to their normal sector, it said.

Under criteria issued after the SET decided in 2006 to close the Rehabco sector, a company which has been in the sector for less than two years could return to its normal sector. However, its stock will bear both a non-compliance (NC) sign to inform investors that the firm may be delisted, and a suspension (SP) sign to prevent trading.

If a firm fails to meet the criteria, the SET will remove its securities from the trading board and transfer them to the Non-Performing Group. If the company then resolves its problems in line with the SET's criteria, the SET will consider moving the securities back to their normal sector.
