Highlights of the week :Case against Thaksin, wife to move forward

The Assets Examination Committee is today expected to endorse a report from its subcommittee calling for prosecution by the Attorney General of former premier Thaksin Shinawatra and his wife Khunying Pojaman.
The subcommittee also proposed the seizure of a Ratchadaphisek land plot Pojaman purchased at auction and the Bt772 million paid for the land.
Surayud's accomplishments in the spotlight Thursday sees Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont lead Cabinet members in declaring their achievements after six months in office. The ministers will answer questions put by the National Legislative Assembly. Surayud will be in the spotlight after some assembly members called for his resignation last week.
Legality of lottery plan set for review Finance Minister Chalongphob Sussangkarn and Government Lottery Office director-general Wanchai Surakul meet later this week to find a solution to the two- and three-digit lottery dilemma. They will seek a judicial interpretation of their plan to ensure it is legal.
