New rules for air passengers on carry-on liquids start June 1

Starting on June 1, all passengers of all domestic and international flights at all five international airports in Thailand and Don Mueang Airport will be subject to the international requirement on carry-on liquids.
Chaisak Angkasuwan, director-general of the Civil Aviation Department, said that in carry-on baggage, all liquids - including gel, spray, water, cream, lotion, perfume, bath gel, foams, toothpastes - must be contained in the 100ml containers. Passengers cannot carry those in larger containers. All containers must be put in the transparent re-sealable plastic bag which could contain no more than the total volume of 1 litre. Each passenger is allowed to carry only one transparent plastic bag and the bag must be shown to airport officers at screening check point. Exempted from the 100ml limit is milk, liquid food for babies and prescribed medicine. However, they are subject to screening. The requirement was imposed by International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) on March 1, to increase on -board safety. The requirement has been imposed in most of US and European airports. Singapore just adopted the rule in May and several airports in Asia have not yet enforced the rule. The Nation
