Nok Air to begin Bangalore route

Budget airline Nok Air will launch its first international route between Bangkok and Bangalore, India.

Starting from June 1, it will operate daily flights using a 150-seat Boeing 737-400.

"We did extensive research before launching our international route to India, and with Bangalore being one of the most dynamic and prosperous cities in the country, we expect to see excellent traffic," said CEO Patee Sarasin.

"We aspire to giving an amazing shopping and holiday experience to both business people and leisure travellers from India and Thailand."

Prices start from Bt8,113 net for round-trip tickets. Reservations can be made on www.nokair.com.

Nok Air is promoting the route to Indians as a chance to experience the riches of Thai culture in Bangkok and the airline's other destinations such as Chiang Mai, Udon Thani, Phuket, Hat Yai, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Trang, Krabi, Mae Hong Son, Loei, Pai, Phrae and Chiang Rai.

Tagged the "shopper's airline", Nok Air is promoting Bangkok as a shopper's paradise, enriched by its cultural sites and adventurous nightlife, making it one of the world's most popular tourist destinations.

Siam Paragon and Chatuchak Market are listed as shopping adventures.
