Swing and swim in same trip

Phuket-based Ocean Rover Cruises is all systems go for its first golf and dive cruise next month.

Managing director Jeroen Deknatel said it would be a yacht cruise combining two very popular sports - golf and scuba diving - in a single voyage.

The cruise will take place aboard the company's flagship, the 100-foot expedition-style motor yacht Ocean Rover.

The cruise, which is almost sold out, starts on June 4 at Singapore's new One 15 Marina, with the first round of golf played at Singapore's prestigious Sentosa Golf Course.

Ten days, six golf courses and multiple islands later, the diving golfers will disembark at Koh Samui, with the final round taking place at the fabled Santiburi Country Club. There, the winner of the friendly competition will receive the Ocean Rover Trophy.

The Malaysian section of the cruise includes stops at Sebana Cove Golf and Marina Resort in Johor Bahru, the Berjaya Tioman Island Golf Club and Astana Golf and Country Club in Kuantan. The first round on Thai soil will be played at Songkhla's Southern Hills Golf and Country Club.
