S Korea's title hopes over

Japan shattered South Korea's dreams of winning the crown with a dramatic five-set win at the Chakangrao Gymnasium in the 6th Asian Youth Girls' Volleyball Championship in Kamphaeng Phet yesterday.

The Japanese were in splendid form as they handed South Korea a 25-17 25-15 25-27 27-29 15-12 loss in their fifth game. The match seemed a decider of the winners, as both teams went into it unbeaten and each had eight points from  four matches.

Meanwhile, India beat Sri Lanka 25-7 25-12 25-14 and Taiwan downed Australia 25-14 25-14 25-14 to notch their second victory. Both Taiwan and India have seven points from two wins against three losses
