Koreans too good for Australians

[VOLLEYBALL] South Korea shrugged off Australia's challenge to continue their winning streak in the 6th girls' Asian Youth Volleyball Championship at the Chakangrao Gymnasium yesterday.
The South Korean side kept the Australians out of a close contest to notch up their second victory 25-12 25-11 and 25-16 in barely an hour. The Australians conceded several points due to lack of cohesion, allowing the South Koreans to take the first set with ease. The South Koreans made a series of errors in the second set but the Australians failed to capitalise on their opportunities. In the third, they narrowed the gap to 17-14 but gave away five straight points to hand their rivals the match point before Park Seul-gi smashed a tricky serve to help the South Koreans win the match. In other matches, Mi Yang scored 16 points to lead China past India 25-15 25-19 25-16 in their second match. Taiwan, who lost to Japan 25-17 25-19 25-17 late on Monday night, swept aside Sri Lanka 25-4 25-11 25-8 to record their first win. Thailand were due to take on Japan later yesterday.
