In brief :Fraser & Neave plans 2nd plant

Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd plans to build a second plant at a cost of US$100 million (Bt3.5 billion) that would triple its capacity for condensed milk in three years from the current eight million cases of milk cans annually.
CEO Tan Ang Meng said recently the plant would be producing its entire range of dairy products. F&N is the leader in Malaysia's condensed milk market with an estimated market share of 50-70 per cent. Tan said F&N, with the acquisition of Nestle's operations in Thailand, was now able to produce 12 million cases of condensed milk in the Kingdom. Nestle's acquisition in Thailand, which was completed in February, contributed 156 million ringgit (Bt1.5 billion) to group revenue in the first half ended March 31.
Trust award for Bangkok Bank Bangkok Bank was recently voted "Trusted Brand 2007" among local commercial banks, according to the ninth annual readers' survey by Reader's Digest. Reliability, image credibility, customer satisfaction and innovation were the criteria for the award. Bodin Unakul, executive vice president of Bangkok Bank, said the award reflects public awareness. "We have focused on brand-building and we have ensured that our clients and consumers realise our quality service and our understanding of customers' preferences," he said.
