Road accident claims official

Nan Deputy Governor Prasert Leksakuldilok was killed in a road accident in Bo Klua district yesterday morning.

Seven others were injured when a pickup vehicle in which they were travelling veered off the road and plunged 50 metres into a valley. One of the injured remains in a coma.

Prasert was attending a mobile medical unit event marking the birthday of Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana.

Prasert's secretary Nisan Hankla, 25, Bo Klua sheriff Udom Chantamai and assistant district officer Boonrit Kaewpokpong are among the injured.

Prasert's funeral will be held at Wat Suan Tan.
