Skincare public gets UV-savvy

The sun-guard cream market is expected to brighten 10 per cent, or Bt900 million, this year, reflecting changes in consumer skincare behaviour, reports the Kasikorn Research Centre.
Half of the market will come from sun guard for the body and the rest for the face.
Although overall prospects for economic growth look bleak this year, that should not affect the sun-guard cream market, because customers are expected to continue spending money on taking care of their skin. Manufacturers are also creating new marketing strategies by targeting their latest products at niche markets, especially sun guard for men. Almost all makers of skincare products have turned their focus on men, because men are now more interested in taking care of their bodies and need special products for themselves. They do not care to use women's products, the research house said.
