IN BRIEF
MEA workers demand PM goes

The Metropolitan Electricity Authority's labour union yesterday petitioned Council for National Security chairman General Sonthi Boonyaratglin to replace Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont.
The group said the government was too slow and ineffective, allowing the old power group and others with ill intentions to take advantage. The union said the government had still taken no action against some corrupt state-enterprise officials. Meanwhile, farmers and laid-off officials of other state agencies were in trouble and waiting for the government's help. - The Nation.
