Not happy

Former National Police chief General Kowit Watana yesterday lodged a complaint to the Police Commission, claiming he was unjustly transferred to an inactive post by the government.

A Police Commission source said Kowit expected the commission to consider his grievance at its meeting today.

A ruling by the commission was required by the Administrative Court, which was considering Kowit's case.

Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont signed an order last week to appoint Kowit as chief government adviser on internal security and General Seripisut Temiyavej as the new commissioner-general of the National Police Office, a role that he had already assumed.

Kowit then petitioned the Administrative Court to have the order revoked, alleging it was unfair.
