Late news :Oji expands thermal paper capacity

Oji Paper has decided to spend 4.7 billion yen (Bt1.37 billion) for coating machinery for thermal paper at its wholly owned unit, Oji Paper (Thailand).

The investment will result in the expansion of thermal-paper sales in the growing Asian market and strengthen the global supply chain of thermal paper to meet customers' demand in combination with current production sites in Japan, North America and Europe, said a company press release.

New Hua Hin homes

Sansiri has introduced its latest residential project worth Bt600 million in Hua Hin called Baan San Plen, after it sold out Baan San Dow in two weeks.

Managing director Srettha Thavisin said demand for residential projects at resort locations had shown strong growth, especially in Hua Hin.

TCELS budgets for 11

The Thailand Centre of Excellence for Life Sciences has budgeted Bt177 million for fiscal 2007 to develop 11 research and development projects.

President Thongcha Tawichachart said eight projects were for medicines and three for medical services: a DNA bank, development cluster for health and health centre.

Boots' special deals

Boots also offers a special deal on three items for Bt199 from Botanics Men, Boots the Spa, Boots Skin Kindly, Vaseline Healthy Whitening UV Protection Lotion and Nivea Deo Roll-On.

VN's new tariffs

Imports from China and Asean will enjoy special preferential tariff treatment from Vietnam, following a recent decision issued by the Ministry of Finance.

The treatment is needed for Vietnam to meet its commitments to the Asean-China Free Trade Area agreement, the Vietnam News Agency reported.
