Trang :Princess Somsavali pays condolences to victims of waterfall tragedy
HRH Princess Somsavali yesterday visited one of the scenes of a tragedy that killed 38 tourists in Trang over Songkran and granted aid to the victims' families.
The princess, who chairs the Friends in Need of Pa Foundation of the Thai Red Cross Society, visited Sai Rung waterfall in Yan Ta Khao district. She met the families of holidaymakers who were killed by flash-floods from the Banthad hills at Sai Rung and Prai Sawan waterfalls on April 14. The princess was welcomed by officials and local people. Trang Governor Anont Manaswanich reported on the situation and assistance given to affected families. In the name of the foundation, the princess gave Bt3,000 in aid to each of the families and granted donations for the construction of flood-warning towers at the two waterfalls.
