FAT chief Worawi gets his team

[SOCCER] Worawi Makudi, the new Football Association of Thailand [FAT] president, has appointed an 18-member executive board that includes 11 new faces ranging from businessmen to military personnel.
The list also has some old faces, who worked under the previous administration of Vijit Getkaew. Lt-General Rangsarit Jaengjenkit is a stand out among the newcomers. Worawi, the 11th FAT president, also appointed seven honorary council members who will act as managers for the many national squads. "I decided to have two committee councils - the executive board and the honorary council - mainly because the person in charge of the national side will solely focus on the team and will not involve himself in administrative matters. From now on, we will run the organisation like Fifa or the AFC [Asian Football Confederation]," said Worawi, who also revealed that his predecessor Vijit has been appointed as honorary life president of the organisation. Meanwhile, tickets for the Asian Cup games in Thailand will go on sale from April 20 at all Thai Ticketmaster branches. The continent's top-flight competition is co-hosted by Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam from July 7-29. There are two sets of tickets with different prices. The group-stage tickets are priced at Bt100, 200, 400 and 700, while the first knock-out round and the quarter-final are available at Bt150, 250, 500 and 800.
