Students offered rewards

The Office of the Higher Education Commission (OHEC) will reward students who give useful information about rare instances of inconsistent Anet score announcements this year.
Of the 175,075 who took the test in the Advanced National Educational Test, or Anet, 24 reported to OHEC via the automatic-answering call centre that their scores were different on two occasions after they checked their scores on www.cuas.or.th "We call on these students to contact OHEC because information on when the defective reports showed up will be useful in our plan to prevent similar problems next year," OHEC secretary-general Krissanapong Kirtikara said yesterday. He added that other students who came across similar problems could also come forward. "We have prepared some rewards for them," he said. Krissanapong added that the Anet scores on the website were now accurate and no more changes would be made. Anet is one of the main criteria for admission to university. OHEC has allowed Anet test-takers to check their answer sheets until May 26, if they felt their scores did not reflect their academic performance. So far, just over 300 test-takers - or 0.2 per cent of the total test takers - have showed up at OHEC. OHEC will announce the admission criteria for 645 academic programmes/faculties at 86 higher-educational institutes on April 5 on www.cuas.or.th - The Nation
