LATE NEWS
Shippers asked to pay in dollars

The Thai National Shippers' Council yesterday asked all shippers operating in Thailand to pay freight fees in US dollars instead of baht to reduce exporters' costs.

Council chairman Suchart Chantaranakaracha said exporters should shoulder increasing freight costs due to the stronger baht. At present, exporters pay in baht, and shippers charge 40-50 satang per dollar for currency risk. - The Nation.
