Ongart emerges champion in opening leg

Ongart Sabcharoenkul put on a steady performance to win the Flight A gross score division of the Nation's Hole-in-One tournament at the Muang Kaew Golf Course on Wednesday.
The year-long event organised by Nation Multimedia Group [NMG] has grown in popularity after three successful years which saw more than 1,000 golfers, both expatriates and locals, enter the competition. The tournament is exclusively reserved for golfers who sink an ace across the country and will be held at Muang Kaew Golf Course on Bangna-Trat Road on the third Wednesday of each month. The contest is split into three categories and applies a stroke-play format. The champions of the three divisions from each qualifying event are eligible for the grand finale, the Nation's Swing Challenge at Chiangmai Highlands Golf Course, in February next year where a Volkswagen Passat 2.3 V5, worth Bt1.59 million will be up for grabs. This month marked the opening leg and ace-makers have 10 more months to participate in the country's premier tournament.
