Warrants issued for 2 suspects

Pair believed to be behind blast at Seacon Square
Arrest warrants were yesterday issued for two men suspected of planting a bomb at Seacon Square shopping mall on New Year's Eve. Police released descriptions of the two men seen in video footage taken from security cameras at the mall in Suan Luang district, but not their mug shots or identities. The first man is around 158-centimetres tall, has a round face and broad forehead. The other is around 163cm tall, has a round head, long black hair, broad forehead and thick eyebrows, said General Phatcharawat Wongsuwan, the investigator overseeing all nine bomb attacks. Acting National Police Chief Seripisut Temiyavej said, "Their identities will be made public after police become 100 per cent certain that they are the bombers." Police said previously that they had identified three other suspects, including two women, over the blasts on December 31 last year. They have not, however, disclosed the suspects' identities. Yesterday, they also released video footage of a male suspect they said planted a bomb at Major Ratchayothin cinema complex in Bang Khen district, after a warrant was earlier issued for him. He is between 25 and 30 years old, thin, around 170cm tall and appears to have bad right leg. The man was wearing a black cap, a long-sleeved white T-shirt and black trousers, He was carrying a bag appearing to contain heavy material. He entered the cinema complex at 4.46pm, went into a McDonald's restaurant at 4.59pm, then left the restaurant at 5.08pm, carrying an empty bag. The bomb exploded inside the restaurant at 6pm. Police have offered a Bt1-million reward for information leading to this suspect. Anyone with information can call 02-255-9970.
