Few kudos for CNS

The junta's assessment of its achievements in the six months since the coup received mixed reactions from different parties.
Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva said he would not give a specific mark for the Council for National Security, but did note its determination and tangible progress in various fields."For the remaining six months, the CNS and the interim government will have to work hard together to tackle the violence in the South and economic problems," he suggested. National Legislative Assembly member Wallop Tangkhananurak said assessed overall work of the junta as "fair". However, there was room for improvement in the deep South, relief of natural disasters and political stability, he said. Secretary general of the Campaign for Popular Democracy, Suriyasai Katasila, said he saw no clear stance from the CNS in its efforts to bring national reconciliation and to support media reform. "The public seems to be willing to give a further chance for the junta and the government to work, but they should produce some concrete results," he said.
