'Role model for politicians'
Former colleagues of late economic tsar Boonchu Rojanastien yesterday praised him as a role model for politicians.
Democrat Party member Chamni Sakdiseth worked with Boonchu at the Palang Dharma Party and described him as a great teacher."He was an economic tsar for the country who dedicated himself to solving its problems," he said. Boonchu's ability to produce a budget was legendary among members of Parliament, Chamni added. He was impressed Boonchu donated his body to medical study. "He intended to be a teacher well after his last day," Chamni said. Former Palang Dharma Party leader Chamlong Srimuang said Boonchu was "a role model for politicians". He was successful because he was attentive and responsible, he added. "When I resigned as Palang Dharma Party leader and Boonchu agreed to replace me, he ran the party well and worked hard. I respect him for his abilities, in terms of tactics and care," said Chamlong.
