SIX MONTHS AFTER COUP
Surin of Kularb Kew alleged to be nominee for Temasek : police chief

Police has summoned Surin Upatkoon, a former major shareholder of Kularb Kaew, for questioning on charge of violating the foreign business law by holding the Kularb Kaew's shares on behalf of Singapore's Temasek Holdings.
Police Chief Seripisut Temeyavej said that the police already summoned Surin on Monday after it concluded the investigation into the alleged violation of foreign business law. Kularb Kaew, majority owned by Surin, was accused of acting as a nominee to acquire Shin Corp's shares on behalf of Temasek Holdings. He said that Surin was already informed of the police's request and he said he would come to testify on April 3. The other three persons were also accused of the same charge and they said they would meet the police on march 27. Seripisut said that his office would ask the public prosecutors to file charge against Surin and three others within two months. Surin, a major shareholder of Kularb Kaew, Upatkoon, earlier insisted that he financed his investment in the company with his own money. Seripisut was speaking at a press conference to report police's works to mark the sixth month after the military junta seized the power from Thaksin government.
