New team for Kularb Kaew probe

A new police team was set up yesterday to probe the Kularb Kaew nominee case after the old one made little progress.

Acting National Police chief Seripisut Temiyavej signed the order on February 26, appointing Lt-General Phijarn Jittirat as the leader the 14-strong force.

The move was aimed at ensuring a fair and speedy investigation.

The panel led by Maj-General Wichien Singpreecha made little headway in working out the case after ministry officials submitted a complaint against Kularb Kaew six months ago.

When the revised Foreign Business Act takes effect, Kularb Kaew - controlled by Temasek Holdings-owned Cypress Holdings - will be defined as a nominee.

That would make its business dealings with Temasek invalid, and subject the sale of Shin Corp to Temasek to revocation.
