Seafood :Shrimp exporters get tax reduction

The Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) has quoted Intrafish as saying that two Vietnamese shrimp exporters were accepted for tax reduction in the US market in this year's administrative review.

They are the Can Tho-based Fish One, with a tax rate reduction from 4.57 per cent to 0.01 per cent, and the Dong Nai-based Grobest, which will be taxed 1.08 per cent instead of 4.57 per cent.

The tax rates on shrimps from four other companies, including Nha Trang Fisco, Bac Lieu Fisheries, Cam Ranh Seafoods and Incomfish, will remain unchanged at 4.57 per cent.

The US Department of Commerce will announce the tax rates to be imposed on warm-water shrimp in September.
