Zou to show up at the King's Cup

[BOXING] Big names, including Asian Games gold-medallist Zou Shimming of China, will participate in the 29th King's Cup Boxing Tournament at The Mall Ngarmwongwan's MCC Hall from April 5 to 10.
Light flyweight Zou, who beat Thai hopeful Suban Pannon through RSC in the final round in the Doha Games, will be one of China's medal prospects in the six-day tournament, which the countries will use to assess their boxers before the World Championships in Moscow in September. China and powerhouses Russia are fielding six boxers while Mongolia are bringing in eight and the Netherlands three. General Taweep Juntararot, president of the Amateur Boxing Association of Thailand (Abat), said yesterday that boxers from 27 countries have confirmed participation in the tournament. Taweep said Abat will field two teams with nine boxers each. Around 6-8 boxers in the A side will be those who had competed in the Asian Games led by the Olympic gold medallist and Asiad winner Manus Boonjumnong. "Thailand B will consist of rising stars who had participated in the National Boxing Championships. If they fare better than those from the A side, they will get a chance to represent the Kingdom in the world meet," he said. Thailand A boxers are training at Rajdamnoen Commercial School, with the B side at Bonanza, Nakhon Ratchasima.
