Bombers identified

Police have identified three suspects linked to the bomb attacks at two of the nine sites on New Year's Eve, acting police chief Seripisut Temiyavej said yesterday.
The identities of the three - two men and one woman - were revealed from security camera images taken at two bomb sites that were enhanced by Canada-based image-processing experts.A man and a woman were seen in footage taken from security cameras at Seacon Square, while another man was "photographed" at Major Ratchayothin cinema complex. "We now know who they are and what their names are," he said, adding that all were being tracked by police, but he needed more evidence before approving a bid for court arrest warrants. Police had earlier released video footage of a man seen planting something at a police box near Saphan Khwai Inter-section before a blast there. The footage did not reveal the man's face as he wore a baseball cap and kept his head down. Seripisut said police had some clues as to who the man was - but needed more evidence to arrest him. All four suspects were civilians. But police say they know why the bombers carried out the attacks but have refused to say any more publicly. Seripisut declined to say if the blasts had anything to do with the southern strife.
