Appliance discounts to boost air travel


Thai and LG join hands yesterday to promote the new ‘Cool Summer Holidays’ campaign.

Thai Airways International (THAI) has joined forces with electrical-appliance manufacturer LG Electronics to launch the marketing campaign "Cool Summer Holidays", offering discounts on home appliances for buyers of THAI's Euang Luang holiday packages.
Customers purchasing THAI Euang Luang holiday packages for destinations in Thailand or abroad - except those not entailing air travel, such as to Pattaya, Hua Hin, Rayong and Kanchanaburi - will receive discount coupons good towards purchases of LG products. The discount coupon will be worth Bt1,000 for buyers of THAI's Euang Luang packages worth more than Bt6,500 per person. Thereafter, they will receive another Bt1,000 coupon for every additional Bt10,000 paid for the holiday package. Wallop Bhukkanasut, executive vice president of THAI's Commercial Department, said the airline's Euang Luang tour package, including air ticket, tour package and accommodation, to any THAI destinations in Thailand or abroad, provides travelling convenience with special prices and mileage points from Royal Orchid Plus. LG Electronics (Thailand) managing director Sung Nak-kil said his company's marketing policy this year focused on high-end products with technology and designs capable of responding to the demands of premium customers. THAI's services are, similarly, in the premium-airline category. He said LG has selected electrical appliances worth more than Bt3 million for the "Cool Summer Holidays" campaign, including Time Machine, LCD and plasma television sets; home-theatre sets; DVD players; washing machines; side-by-side refrigerators; and air-conditioners. "We strongly believe that supporting this activity by Royal Orchid Holidays will expand our premium customer base while boosting the sales of LG products," he said.
