Late news :PTT to raise petrol prices

PTT will raise oil prices 40 satang, effective 5am this morning, due to a hike of US$2 to $3 (Bt71 to Bt106) in global oil prices.

As of yesterday, petrol-95 has been adjusted to $77.75 per barrel, a $2.89-per-barrel increase, while diesel has risen $3.02 to $73.47 per barrel, corresponding to a $1.30 rise in Dubai crude to $59.25 a barrel.

Dairy prices rise

Ten local dairy-product manufacturers will soon increase retail prices after the Internal Trade Department allowed them to do so yesterday.

Director-general Siripol Yodmuangcharoen said the approval will encourage manufacturers to cope with the rising production cost of fresh milk by Bt1.25 per kilogram.

However, the department has not yet decided on the amount by which prices can be increased. The proper price will be considered based on manufacturing cost.
