Krirk-krai staying on

Despite yesterday's resignation of MR Pridiyathorn Devakula as deputy prime minister and finance minister, Commerce Minister Krirk-krai Jirapaet insists he will not quit anytime soon.

The relationship between Krirk-krai and Pridiyathorn was known to have been close. "I knew of Pridiyathorn's concerns; he was not comfortable with some issues. But I didn't expect an immediate resignation," he said, adding that he personally had no conflict with anyone in the Cabinet.

Moreover, Krirk-krai said he did not feel pressured in his responsibilities. He has always reminded himself he should step down once he has achieved something substantial, but he believes in a stable government.
