Patama new MD at M'soft

Microsoft Thailand has appointed Patama Chantaruck as its new managing director, effective on April 23.

She is moving from Microsoft's global headquarters in Washington state, where she served as director of marketing for emerging segments.

The company said Patama had demonstrated strong leadership in managing both global and regional programmes.

She has worked for Microsoft for more than 11 years and started her career at Microsoft Thailand as product marketing manager responsible for desktop applications.

"Even when I was working in the US these past eight years, Thailand remained very close to my heart.

"It has changed dramatically in the last decade, and there are many opportunities for customers and partners to benefit from technology," she said.

Patama replaces Andrew McBean, who is leaving to become senior vice president of cellular operator Total Access Communication.
