NEW CONTRACTS
to boost Landy Home's revenue

Home-builder Landy Home (Thailand) expects its revenue to grow by 11 per cent to Bt500 million this year, thanks to new contracts late last year.
Of the revenue, Bt140 million will come from contracts for which agreements were signed in the fourth quarter last year. The company's revenue was Bt450 million last year. To achieve its goal, the company has drawn up an aggressive marketing strategy to promote a new construction process called Nova System, which supplies ready-to-use beams and pillars, said managing director Phiched Maneerattanaporn. "Under the new process, customers save an average of 15 per cent of their construction costs over the normal system." He added that the company had also developed a construction method which protects the house from rats. "We will focus on innovative houses that are different from those by other homebuilders in the market," he said. The Nova System is now built by Daiichi Corporation, which has a major stake owned by Phiched. Its plant is in Nakhon Pathom province. Thirty per cent of its production capacity for Nova System is for Landy Home, with the rest for other construction firms. Phiched said the company also invested up to Bt10 million for a concrete-block plant last year by establishing Neo Built. Neo Built started to operate last December. The plant will start full operation this year during which it expects sales of Bt50 million. "We have to expand our investment in raw materials as that will reduce our construction costs to compete with other homebuilders," he said. He added that the slight economic growth this year would not affect the company's business because the purchasing power of those who prefer to build their house is higher than that of homebuyers who buy from a developer. As a result, the company believes that its revenue will meet its target this year.
