In Brief :Thai Bev Tower project sold

Thai Beverage expects to reap a profit of Bt131.86 million from the sale of its Thai Bev Tower project to TCC Hotel Collection, a company also owned by Charoen and Wanna Sirivadhanabhakdi.
In a filing with the Singapore Exchange, Thai Bev said the sale price was based on an evaluation by Thai Appraisal Lynn Phillips at Bt819 million as of last September. Payment by cash is expected to be completed by March 31. Charoen and Wanna, Thai Bev chairman and vice chairman, respectively, are also executive directors and indirectly own TCC Hotel Collection. The tower project was intended to be Thai Bev's new head office, but the company decided not to move.
Thai sugar on its way to Jakarta Thai sugar will be exported to Indonesia to fill a commitment of bidders who won a recent tender. Antara News Agency said two foreign companies - London's Tate and Lyle and Singapore's Wee Tiong - won a tender to import 45,000 tonnes of refined sugar for state-owned PT Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia (RNI). Tate and Lyle will import 12,000 tonnes of sugar via Jakarta's Tanjung Priok Port on March 30, to be followed by imports of 13,000 tonnes in April. The company was also awarded a contract to import 12,000 tonnes of sugar via Makassar, to arrive in South Sulawesi on April 15. Wee Tiong won a tender to import 8,000 tonnes of sugar for Manado via Bitung Port, to arrive in April. RNI, which has been awarded a contract by the government for the procurement of 45,000 tonnes of sugar this year, said it would be imported from Thailand.
