Leader, members to be charged in court for mobbing Nation office
Caravan of the Poor leader Khamta Kaenbunchan and other members will be indicted in the Southern Criminal Court next Thursday for the March 2006 blockade of Nation Group headquarters.
The group surrounded the Bang-Na Trat building in protest at a Kom Chad Luek story it considered offensive to His Majesty the King.Public prosecutor Kwanchai Kuankid said yesterday it had compiled a case against Khamta and other members. One of the charges is illegal use of loudspeakers. Khamta and group members will enter a plea on February 22. On hearing the decision to indict him Khamta said he, deputy leader Attharit Singhalor and others would deny the charges. "We and Kom Chad Luek understand each other well and we hold no grudge against one another. "What we did that day was for no other reason but to express our loyalty to His Majesty," Khamta said. - The Nation.
