US Ambassador to Thailand, Ralph L. Boyce, handed over a bag of basic household items to a hilltribe in Tambon Nakien in Chiang Mai's Omkoi district. Boyce witnessed the destroying of opium in this remote community along the Burmese border where opium cultivation continue to be cultivate in spite of the fact that it has been banned for decades.
