Robbed blind

Police are trying to trace a woman through Internet chat rooms after a blind man accused her of stealing his wallet when they met at a hotel for sex.

The man yesterday claimed the woman, whom he met through a chat room for the blind, stole his wallet and Bt10,000 in cash.

Bank call-centre operator Ekkachai Paiduang, 28, told Bang Khen police a woman called Bo arranged over the Internet to meet him at a city hotel for sex. He said she left the room with his wallet when he went to the bathroom.

Captain Weerachai Silpa yesterday said police had been unable to learn the woman's real name but that they would investigate chat sites in an attempt to discover her identity, the computer server she used and possibly her address.

A police source said an anonymous woman had accused Ekkachai of formerly being a masseuse in the Thung Song Hong area of Don Muang district and of stealing a customer's purse.
