SIAM THIS MORNING
PR 'war room' to point out Thaksin's 'weak points'

The so-called 'war room' for government's PR operations will start working by informing the public of political problems caused by the Thaksin government during the past five years, one of its official said Thursday.
Praphan Khoonmee, a member of the proactive public relations committee during the time of crisis, told Nation Group editor Thepchai Yong that most people in provinces were not fully informed of political problems caused by the Thaksin government. As a result, the government would have to start giving the truth to the people, Praphan said. Praphan was giving interview during the Siam This Morning TV programme broadcast on Channel 5. "The government must inform the people of political failures during the past five years. The people must be told of the truth. Most of rural people are still not fully informed [of problems caused by the Thaksin government]. But when there were problems about the Suvarnabhumi Airport, the facts were made news worldwide. And this was a problem, which the villagers could understand and it will not be difficult for us to inform them about the problem. This is Thaksin's weakpoint. The killings of drug suspects, human rights violations, and destroying of democracy are also serious issues. If the people are informed of these issues, the world communities will understand why the coup had to be staged," Praphan said.
