Jay Mart expects 1.6m handset sales

Jay Mart hopes to sell 1.6 million handsets this year, a big jump from the 700,000 sold last year.
The company is targeting revenue of Bt6.6 billion and net profit of Bt192 million, up respectively from Bt5.1 billion and Bt42 million last year. CEO Adisak Sukumvitaya yesterday said that the forecast growth was in response to its plan to aggressively provide the IT product-zone management service for department stores. Currently the company provides the service to eight department stores around the country. Adisak said that out of the forecast net profit for the year, 60 per cent would be contributed by wholesale and retail handset sales and IT zone management, and the rest from its debt-collecting subsidiary JMT, which is capitalised at Bt20 million. Jay Mart intends to list JMT on the Market for Alternative during the second half of the year, he added. JMT has posted monthly revenue of Bt20 million. Usanee Mongkolporn The Nation
