Electronic-transaction rules inch closer
Four Royal Decrees to facilitate business and encourage electronic transactions, security on the Internet, and electronic commerce are expected to be released this year.
According to Surangkana Wayapard, a specialist at the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (Nectec), the first decree is on rules and procedures for electronic transactions in the public sector and a draft has approved by Cabinet. The decree is aimed at setting standards for government-to-government, government-to-customer and government-to-business dealings. The second covers electronic payment service providers, and it aims to cover electronic transactions and build confidence among users of online business. Meanwhile, the third is the supervising certification authority decree, which will give businesses the authority to certify electronic transactions.
